Synthetic chemistry is unique among scientific disciplines for its power to create wholly novel entities, and serves both to influence a wide range of allied fields while simultaneously serving as a powerful platform for exploration and discovery. By designing and synthesizing new molecular compounds with unknown structure and function, we hope to learn more about the general principles enabling new chemical transformations and also facilitate development in biology and medicine. Moreover, by employing sophisticated catalytic reactions and appropriately designed synthetic processes, one can not only synthesize the molecules of nature and their analogues but also a myriad other organic molecule for potential applications in many areas of science, technology, and everyday life.  Over the years, through different projects, I have gained experience and expertise in organic, organometallic synthesis &, and method development. These studies are also assisted by various analytical techniques (NMR, React IR, Mass, HPLC, GC etc.) for characterization and mechanistic studies.

‘The unique challenge which chemical synthesis provides for the creative imagination and the skilled hand ensures that it will endure as long as men write books, paint pictures, and fashion things which are beautiful, or practical, or both.’
R.B. Woodward
